"We must take care of our image as a world leader"
At 57, Dominique Bec knows the GALLAND company inside out. A player in the successful relocation to La-Lande-de-Fronsac, in the structuring of the sales department and then as production director, he has held the position of strategy and development director since November 2020. To enhance its image in France and abroad, Galland can count on this passionate ambassador!
"I wanted to be operational right away," confides the former mechanical engineering student who joined the Galland factory, then located in Choisy-le-Roi in 1994. "In this family business, I discovered a philosophy in line with my down-to-earth values and the need to feel like I was a player in the company. In a few days, I could put names to all the faces. And when we had a problem, the management office was always open."
Winning tandem
Very quickly, Dominique Bec and Philippe d'Huy (General Manager) formed a solid duo. In 2003, they began the migration of the company to La-Lande-de-Fronsac.
There, on the vast site, Dominique Bec wears several hats: "Commercial relations, assistance with the installation of equipment for our foreign customers... you had to know how to do everything. I had the chance to discover China in 1996. A large country then in full development". Then Philippe Galland (President) entrusted him with the management of production: "In 13 years, we went from a workshop of around ten people to a department of 30 employees".
Towards more serenity
It was this intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the company that was retained when the Management offered him the position of Strategy and Development Director in November 2020. "My mission is both broad and precise: to generate turnover. My ambition is to pass the 12 million euro mark. This stability would bring more serenity and sustainability in jobs." A new adventure for Galland and a new challenge for Dominique Bec!
