The life of a company, like a train, is made up of periods of stability and phases of acceleration. In 2003, the move of the historic workshops of Choisy-le-Roi to the current site of La-Lande-de-Fronsac boosted production and moved our company from craftsmanship to industrialization. This year, Galland celebrates the 20th anniversary of this installation in Gironde, and continues to grow.
Moving to evolve
From 1946 to 2003, the Galland company grew considerably and the emblematic site of Choisy-le-Roi, in the Parisian suburbs has become dilapidated: the suburbs have swallowed it up, accessibility is limited, deliveries are becoming complicated, employees are scattered across a multitude of workshops... In the 90s, the Eurotunnel construction site and the TGV Korea in which Galland is participating propelled the company into a new era. But, to export its know-how, it must equip itself with a ISO Quality system. However, the configuration of the Parisian site does not allow this development. To develop, Galland must therefore move...
Welcome to Gironde!
President Philippe Galland proposes an installation in Gironde, at The Land of Fronsac, not far from Vérac and the Atelier du Bélier foundries which belong to the family. The region is attractive and employees from Paris are invited to discover it before making a decision.
In the spring of 2003, Galland undertook its big move! For 4 months, the company suspended its activities and transported its machines to new workshops before restarting its production tool with volunteer employees.
Then, in a few years, the family business moved from craftsmanship to industrialization.
1st extension in 2008
After this successful transfer, a stabilization phase followed and a first extension in 2008 on an adjoining plot: Galland gained 400 m2 of production workshops and 1200 m2 of park to store raw materials. An expansion necessary to continue its international development.
A new expansion for the 20th anniversary!
20 years after its move, at the end of 2022, Galland is starting its 2nd phase of expansion, as the company has just acquired a new plot of land adjoining its site, to reach a total surface area of 9,000 m2. This is excellent news for the 50 employees who will gain additional office and meeting spaces equipped for videoconferencing, as well as an expanded storage area in order to continue the development of Galland internationally.
Work to begin in 2024…
