Benoit Aymard : « Working for GALLAND is self-evident »

If he had been told one day that he would join GALLAND and stay, taking on more and more responsibilities to the point of becoming deputy head of the research unit, Benoit Aymard wouldn’t have believed it. He’s not the type of person to make wildly ambitious plans. Even if a career with a major player in the manufacture of catenaries makes sense for this grandson of a train driver.

JG3754, JG3757 and JG3859 Insulators

Thanks to their experience in the crimping of insulators, the GALLAND company has added three new insulators to its range. These new insulators make it possible to adapt to and be installed easily on existing and new tramway networks. These composite insulators, with stainless steel fastenings, meet the requirements of the NF EN 50119-2020-04 standards.

Christophe Ruis : « There’s a fantastic capacity of adaptation at Galland »

Christophe Ruis, 44 years old, joined the company in 2003 as a multi-faceted worker and has since moved up within the company to become production manager. He is currently in charge of planning and ordering: a position at the heart of the industrial process that requires patience, organization and rigor. A job that is perfect for this sportsman who is used to long-term challenges! (more…)

Galland 70 years later …

What could be better than a 7710-winch tensioner device conceived and designed by Maurice TREVE, founder of the company, to highlight the service offered by the GALLAND company?

Galland at the SIFER Trade Fair : success all along the line !

Last October, the SIFER, the key trade fair of French rail, took up residence in Lille’s Grand Palais. Galland was present to meet prospective customers, to exchange with partners, suppliers and students, to exhibit its new products and to celebrate its 75th anniversary !

The Modane shield

Some historical background :

In 2014 the public French-Italian promoter “Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin” (TELT) was given the responsibility of the construction of the trans-alpine rail link Lyon-Turin. The maintenance workshop Fret located in St Jean de Maurienne had to be relocated for the needs of the project.

In 2017 the FRET management chose the site of Modane because it already had rail installations, service lines, a turntable and a historical rotunda consisting of 14 covered railway lines dating from 1895.

The Modane railway station is an international exchange station where heavy trains weighing up to 1600 tons circulate. At least six different railway companies pass through there as well.

Dominique Pelletier : 37 years of experience at Galland

Everyone in the offices, the workshops and those getting coffee from the coffee machine all know Dominique Pelletier. Nicknamed “La Crevette” (the prawn) Dominique is part of the Galland legend : after 37 years of experience and versatility, he knows how to assemble tensioning devices as well as insulators practically blindfolded.
