After visiting the main European tram networks, the Chinese authorities in charge of developing trams in China chose the design of the Bordeaux tram for its new technology with anchoring and suspension elements in crimped stainless steel cable.
The company Galland having developed this new concept, it was quite natural that they approached our company to adapt together what would become the standard for Chinese trams. It was in 2013 that the construction of the first tram line in Suzhou began.
The first line was successfully put into service on October 26, 2014. Since then, two line extensions have been in service: Suzhou 2 and 3. Eventually, the Suzhou tramway network will extend over around sixty kilometers.
