As well as maintaining a partnership with the regional Cluster FerroCampus in Saintes, Galland has established a close contact with the Lycée Bernard Palissy in this same town. Objective : to accompany the pupils enrolled in the course subject option of training in the railway trades by in situ operations and the loan of Galland materials. An investment in the future !
Jean-François Vidal, executive manager of professional and technological training at the Lycée Bernard Palissy, remembers his first meeting with Galland : “It was the 31 August 2021. Since then, numerous projects have been brought to fruition with collaboration between the company and the high school. Our baccalaureate pupils in Pro maintenance, pupils preparing the advanced technician’s certificate in the conception of industrial products and the advanced technician’s certificate in electronic engineering learn and work on the Galland tensioning devices. The AERO equipped with monitoring is excellent analysis training material for our baccalaureate pupils in digital and computer science. Students and teachers have also been able to visit the Galland company, which has always shown itself to be available, open and effective. It is a people-friendly company and you can feel it !”
FerroCampus Days
On 8 and 9 November, Galland was invited to attend the FerroCamus Days organized by the high school, along with other railway companies such as Thales and Alstom. On the 1st day, the players of the sector presented the trades and training of the industry sector to the students and job-seekers. The second day the professionals came together to discuss several themes linked to digitalization, shared data, rolling stock and infrastructure and signalization.
“The reactions and comments of the students and the public who were invited were excellent” Jean-François Vidal noted. “Galland in particular presented its material and its trades to pupils as well as to the teachers. They were accompanied by their service provider Preditic which is involved in monitoring and data collection. The stand they shared was placed at the centre of our workshop !”
The trades of the future
At Galland we are proud to train future work site operators. There is no lack of projects in this domain : new and finer links in the suburbs and in the regions, improving the scope of the country’s network, development of the RER (regional express) network ….Railways are the future !
