Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, stated during COP 27 in November 2022: ‘We are on a highway to climate hell with our foot on the accelerator.’ GALLAND, as a responsible actor in the railway sector, is committed to addressing the challenges of ecological and energy transition.

Behind our actions lies the reality of the field, combining short and long-term actions aligned with the company’s environmental strategy. With significant international activity, transportation is the primary emitter of greenhouse gases. Since 2023, Galland has implemented an indicator to measure efforts to reduce CO2 emissions related to transportation. Galland’s emission reduction strategy involves shifting to less emitting modes (freight trains), improving vehicle filling (work engaged with our main client, SNCF), direct deliveries between subcontractors, and decarbonizing the energy used (using the fleet of electric vehicles for local deliveries).

Our actions and contributions are aligned with expectations regarding environmental impact at the industry and national levels in France, with a goal of net zero emissions by 2050.”
