For reasons of electrical standards our material has to respect geometrical constraints in order to guarantee the safety regulations that must be observed. Our tramway network clients informed us and wanted to add the possibility of a multi-action adjustment tool. A requirement of the client that Galland has taken into account and is changing and transforming their swiveling head steady arm!

On tramway networks, in order to ensure the staggering of the contact wire, the swiveling head steady arm is being transformed. Indeed, its new dimensions make it easier to respect the electric insulation air gap required by standards and consequently its installation on railway structures is compatible. Its second advantage is the easy passage of the pantograph under the section insulator.

The combination of the section insulator and the swiveling head steady arm allows a precise adjustment of the contact wire orientation, in order to obtain an impact-free pantograph passage.

The “new” swiveling head steady arm, elaborated by Galland, is more innovative and better-made than the old one and is currently installed on Rouen’s tramway network.
